Relationship Evangelism

Posted on April 21, 2005

Click below to read a powerful story of Terry and Patty coming to know Christ, not because of a crusade or a campmeeting or powerful preaching, but through relationship. There is nothing wrong with any of the above, but lately I have come to the understanding that relationships are a powerful evangelism tool. People will hang with you because you can be real with each other and they can be aware that something is different in your life, but you are not constantly trying to convince them to believe exactly as you do. You simply live your life, share your commonality, don’t participate in things that you don’t agree with, such as going out and getting plastered on Friday nights. In time, things sink in with others. For me, this means walking closer to God all the time because I sometimes struggle to live according to God’s will, but it’s not out of reach, that’s for sure. The post linked below at Emerging Evangelism gives the example of this much better than I can, so go check it out: http://www.emergingevangelism.com/2005-04-20-the-story-of-terry-patty/trackback/
