This weekend is rapidly approaching and it should be a fun filled time.
First of all, I never did recap last weekend, it was our kickoff to summer and also the Sunday that the kids moved up to their new grade. In addition to that, we added a 3rd kid’s worship service and the music is all new. The band is taking the summer off and we are using CD’s and DVD’s for the music. That room was totally energized last Sunday, moreso than I’ve seen in quite awhile. There were some of the older kids on stage leading the singing and actions and there wasn’t a person sitting still in the room.
Plus I installed i-Tunes on the PC, so the music was run from the PC into the sound board and out. Very cool stuff. I took pics with my camera phone, but obviously, the high resolution and quality was phenomenal…..NOT! So this Sunday, I’ll have a real camera to get some pics, although I don’t think that will do it justice at all. I may post ‘em here. This is kind of a trial for the summer, depending on how it goes, it may bleed over into the fall. We are off to a very strong start, in my opinion.
I was down at church on Tuesday night doing some stuff and caught the end of their practice for this coming Sunday and it looks to be awesome, once again.
Now, back to this weekend. We are leaving just after noon tomorrow for Promise Keepers. This will be my 3rd year in a row and it has been a good time each time and this year should be the same, I expect. A refreshing time and a time to refocus on the important stuff. The bonus this year is it’s only about 2 hours away and I have a friend that lives not too far away from it and a couple of us will be camping out in their living room tomorrow night. (It’s actually Brian and Laquita, the ones where we visited their cool new church, also my soon to be guest blogger.) Not only is PK closer to home, it’s much cheaper, not having to pay for the bus ride and hotel. (Last year was a 5 hour drive just to get there.)
So I’ll be home later Saturday evening, then we will do the church thing Sunday morning. Then mow the lawn Sunday afternoon and maybe hit the drive-in that night, looks like a good, family friendly movie.( I don’t remember what’s playing but everything about it looks good for our family.)
If I can convince myself to carry my camera all through PK, I’ll take some pics there too, but at this point, I’m leaning toward not hauling the camera around.
