Technology in perspective

Posted on June 10, 2005

Check this out, Brian Orme has some great posts on his blog deeper All this week has been excellent, yesterday’s post, subtitled “iPastor - New leaders for a new culture”says this:

In our digital culture–there is something to be said for the role of the pastor or leader in technology. In many ways the ipastor or the technology leader is the new youth pastor…in the sense that this new position and need has been created to connect to a world that is growing in hyper-speed digitally. Years ago, the position of youth pastor wasn’t even in the vocabulary–now it is a typically staple in the modern church. The tech pastor is quickly becoming a necessity in the church today, as well.

Today’s post, iRevolution discusses: “Top Ten things to think about in moving from anaolog to digital Church.”

Two points that jump out at me in the top 10 list are:

Digital media doesn’t take the place of community–it’s a tool that has the possibility of enhancing it.
When it comes to technology (and ministry)–start out by doing two things well–not a hundred things crappy.

Amen, brother!

Check him out…
