On a Quest…

First of all, I do want to say thank you to Clif Guy, Paul Podraza, Jason and Andy for your feedback on my spam dilemma. I’m not changing the product we are using yet, but I have found some ways to attack the problem. So far, the results are phenomenal. We have an old domain that had everyone’s e-mail addresses hard coded on the website and I have discovered that most everyone’s old email addresses are still set up in Exchange. I had a strong feeling that the spam was mainly coming to email addresses at the old domain and confirmed it by reviewing one users inbox containing about 70 spam e-mails. So I deleted the old email addresses for a couple of users and heard this morning, for one, that they are receiving virtually no spam now. So I’ll be remedying the majority of our spam problem that way over the next couple of weeks. Plus now I have an idea of what spam blocking software to upgrade to when the time is right!

Anyway, I was going to followup on this last week, about the time I did my handiwork on this blog, taking it down, which immediately captured all my attention.

So here we go….I am looking for something that I’ve never seen but I’m sure it’s out there, so instead of researching it first and then ask questions, I’m going to just ask on here if anyone has seen this type of thing, then do the research.

I want to run a feed from a video camera directly to the computer or directly to the projector but I want it to be wireless. So I need some kind of transmitter to plug in to the camera and also to the projector. The projector seems easiest, since I’m not wanting to record yet. Initially, I just want to run a video feed thru the projector as the kids are coming into the service. From there, who knows, maybe we can have downloadable video feeds of our kid’s service on the kid’s website.

I’ll be researching this and following up on it, but if anyone is already doing this kind of thing or knows how reliable this type of hardware is, let me know. It will be a relatively small area, and the camera would stay in the room, so I don’t need a strong signal.
