SiteBar Bookmarks Server

SiteBar is the bookmark server for personal and team use. I have a ton of bookmarks at My Yahoo and this is the same concept. The difference is that this is open source and it gives you the capability to run the software on your own server. I haven’t fully explored all that it can do but being open source, there is almost no limit on what can be done with it.

SiteBar is a solution for people who use multiple browsers or computers and want to have their bookmarks available from anywhere without need to synchronize them or take them along. The bookmarks are stored on a server – this could be a public server or your own server running our free software. The bookmarks are displayable/modifiable in almost any standards compliant browser.

I have started using SiteBar, but I am not hosting it on my own server, at least not yet. It would be kind of fun to get it set up, but I’ve got enough to keep me busy for now.

Give this a try! This might be a tool to use to share bookmarks across your church. Interesting concept. As I learn more about it, I’ll let you know……you do the same, alrighty?

So this could be accessible to members as well as internal church staff? Hmmm, could open up some interesting possibilities. I wonder how dynamic it is? If I get to it before you, I’ll give you a review.

    Cool, thanks Stuart!
