The True Cost

Scott at TechShepherds has a great post today on the Cost of Technology vs. the Cost of Ministry. It’s really a look at the true cost of FellowshipOne. If you are considering FellowshipOne and concerned about the cost, read Scott’s post, it helps to put things into perspective.

A couple of thought provoking questions he asks are:

  • How much money is being wasted in the current office processes and procedures?
  • How much is accurate contact information worth? If someone calls the church to change their address, does it get changed for all the staff, or do they have their own database that does not get updated?

Another question he asks is:

  • How many times does your staff handle and rehandle data? If you ask for people to sign up for a Bible study or event, does that data get input into a separate database (such as a spreadsheet) from the main church database and then have to be transfered to another location?

As a result of Scott’s comment on my last F1 post, which he posted on his blog as well, Terry Storch posted this and in conclusion, Scott states:

So Terry is right on the money (pun intended) by pointing out that COST and PRICE are two very differing things.
