Blogging and real life collide

Posted on August 12, 2005

In the last few days I have seen a number of bloggers that are either taking a break from blogging or re-evaluating or quitting writing altogether. It’s not surprising, I guess, and in my mind, I guess I expect that. I have pondered this fact for me lately.

Questions like

  • What’s the point?
  • Why do I do this?
  • Why should I continue?

I have also reflected about why did I start this in the first place. I have been at this now for nearly a year in some form and honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s fascinating to see the relationships that have been formed, and they are different than a typical relationship, considering most of you I have not met.

Anyway, I’m not going to get mushy, that’s for sure!

I can certainly relate though. Life does get in the way and when everything in life is weighed for importance, there are many things that come in ahead of this blog or any blog:

  • God
  • Wife
  • kids
  • work
  • my dogs
  • dinner
  • wondering how much a gallon of gas will cost tomorrow

I think it’s a busy time of year too, school is starting back up, vacations are ending, sports, cheerleading and other activities are gearing up, believe me, we are hopping in my house.

But there’s no real point to this, I guess, just an observation. I actually just wrote more, but realized I was veering way off course, so I chopped it, in favor of staying on course. It will be the next post, I reckon.
