I know there are people who have a desire to start a blog, but have not done so yet, for some reason or other. Oftentimes, the reason is not knowing where to start. There are plenty of options and plenty of different approaches. Some are simple, some are more involved and take more effort.
For myself, I started blogging just over a year ago and the blog I started was at Life with Christ. Life with Christ is a great community and a great blogging platform. It offers a lot of flexibility and there are free templates available, plus you can fully customize your design to create just the look and feel you are looking for. Also, if you need some assistance with anything, there are forums, articles and FAQ’s to give direction and there is a ton of info within these resources. The spirit of this community is great and there are people around who can offer insight in different ways.
If you have considered starting a blog, but haven’t known where to begin, this is where to begin, trust me. If you are not highly technical, then this is for you. If you are highly technical, then this is for you, as well.
I began Tortuous Path as an outlet for myself. I had done some writing previously off and on, but nothing consistently. Doing this gave me the consistent outlet I was looking for. Honestly, as I wrote posts on Tortuous Path, I began to realize what it is I wanted to write about, church tech, and that is what led to this blog. I continued Tortuous Path for several months after this blog began, but was not able to keep up, so it has set dormant for awhile.
However, lately, I have so much going on in my life that I am using Tortuous Path as a place to sort my thoughts out. I feel like it’s obscure at times, random at times and at times, thought-provoking. It is what it is. I make no promises that it’s anything anyone will want to read but it’s there.
Tortuous Path is something I never wanted to let go of completely, mainly because of the community that it let’s me be a part of. So things are up and running over there again and at least for now, that will continue. Check it out, if you want. (Here’s my brand new feedburner feed.)
