Dilbert blog

Posted on October 28, 2005

Whether you are a geek or not, you have probably heard of the comic strip Dilbert.  Also, if you are not a geek and you don’t get what goes on in Dilbert’s world and think it is absurd, well, to put it bluntly, you are so wrong.  Dilbert is so popular among geeks because we get it.  We undertstand his world and we live his life, he is the epitomy of corporate America.  Much of what happens to Dilbert has happened to us or we have seen it happen to others or it’s not that far fetched that it could happen in our office.

The long awaited day has finally come, Scott Adams, Dilbert’s creator has started a blog.  From the Dilbert newsletter, here’s the thought process that pushed him over the edge into the blogosphere:

  1. The world sure needs more of ME.
  2. Maybe I’ll shout more often so that people nearby can experience the joy of knowing my thoughts.
  3. No, wait, shouting looks too crazy.
  4. I know - I’ll write down my daily thoughts and badger people to read them.
  5. If only there was a description for this process that doesn’t involve the words egomaniac or unnecessary.
  6. What? It’s called a blog? I’m there!

This is the best news I have gotten all week, so if you need to add some excitement to your Friday, go check out the Dilbert Blog.
