We just finished watching Sharkboy and Lavagirl and it is a very cool movie. There are alot of great quotes in the movie but my favorite part is the last scene. After everything that went on, Max gives his report to the class.
The following story is true. It might have started as a dream, but as we saw yesterday, when we make our dreams a reality, reality becomes a dream. Sharkboy lives his dream as king of the ocean where he cares for all it’s creatures. He searches for his father’s submarine, where there is no light, except in one place, where light shines almost as bright as the sun, it’s where Lavagirl lives her dream, as queen of earth’s volcanos, that boil at the bottom of the sea. a force of life for all living things. Sharkboy and Lavagirl don’t visit me anymore, but I can visit them in my dreams. So, dream a better dream, then work to make it real.
That last sentence is one that spoke to me the first time I saw this movie a few weeks ago and that is literally what I have been doing for the past several months. I have been dreaming a better dream and working to make it real. My dream, which is the desire that God has put in my heart, is to be able to work with many churches, equipping them with technology and to do it in a way that allows me to quit my job and be self-employed.
By the way, this is the big announcement I have been speaking of lately.
Well, I have taken another step toward that dream with my website. It is finished and ready for prime time. One thing that reassures me that I am in God’s will with this is that it has been a struggle from the beginning, there has always been something holding all of this up, it seems. A big example is over the weekend, Mary and I both have spent some late nights working on various parts of it and in the process, this blog gets wiped out. Just add that to the list of challenges we have faced lately. Both of us know enough to not let something like that happen, yet it did. I know satan will work hard to end a good work, but God has already won that battle. My job now is to make sure I’m seeking His will.
The website is not new, but it has been reworked and refocused. It is Real Tech Matters. So, as I said, this is another step in the right direction, God is faithful and as I seek Him, He will continue to show me His way for me. I’m not done with the site, there is more that I want to add, but it’s a good foundation.
This has been a dream building in me for the past several years, with God slowly revealing more of His vision for me and this is me working to make it real.
