Thanks to uber_tech, who found this tip via NewsVine, here is the way to fix a Firefox memory leak. Are you thinking that you don’t know what a memory leak is? Basically, if you leave your computer running with Firefox open and use Firefox, over time it will use more and more of your memory. Even if that still sounds foreign, it’s safe to say that it’s not a good thing and you’re better off fixing it. It has to do with how many pages that Firefox keeps in its cache for you to scroll through with the forward and back button.
In the Firefox address bar, type about:config and press enter, then simply scroll down to the line that says browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers, double click the line and change the value to 0 (zero).
On the few computers that I have changed, the value was originally 50. I have done some other tweaking in about:config in the past but it’s certainly not a place to cavalier-ly make changes. However, if you are interested in doing some tweaking, here’s a couple of places to start:
