The $39 Experiment

Posted on March 10, 2006

Ok, I admit it, I’m cheap and I also like free stuff.  I also realize I just linked to CopyBlogger this morning, but since I’m not afraid to break blogging etiquette, if there is such a thing, I’m linking to them again.  This is good stuff, trust me.

Two More Attention Strategies actually links to another blog, The $39 Experiment, where Tom Locke decided to write letters to 100 companies and just ask for free stuff.  To date, he has received approximately $114 worth of goods.  That’s cool.  He has received a Mercedes-Benz keychain, Burt’s Bees lip balm, Carmex lip balm, pens, shaving cream, Airborne cold medicine, 4 cans of canned air and the list goes on.  When it comes to canned air, I’m pretty tight, that stuff’s expensive, I use it only as needed.

Are you too proud to try something like this?  Free stuff is always good, I may give it a shot!

Jim, you just go ahead and break blogging etiquette anytime you want. :)

Great work over here, by the way. I hope I’m not stepping out of bounds by saying that this is the type of wonderful niche that by allowing it to reach a global audience, the Internet truly does good deeds.
