What is up with that?

Posted on April 11, 2006

Man, it’s been awhile since I have really wrote anything substantial.  What is up with that?  It’s been tough lately, to get in the groove, to feel like I had anything of value to say.  So, I’m just sitting here tonight making myself write.  It’s time.  Time to get back into it.

It’s not that I have nothing to say, I think I just lack the focus right now.  I’ve thought alot lately about blogging, and I feel like I want to spend some time exploring what it takes to blog.  It’s a fascinating topic, one that still fascinates me, even after over a year and a half of doing it.  I see blogging becoming more mainstream, more common.  It’s not overwhelmingly popular yet but it is more well known.  I’ve had more conversations lately with people wanting to begin writing a blog and that is cool.  Yet, it’s hard to explain this world of blogging to someone who doesn’t even fully understand the medium.

When someone wants to start blogging, I always advise them to begin by reading blogs.  You really have to understand how blogs flow and how people comment and how each post is related to the previous one.  (It’s usually not!)

So, if you’re feeling like you want to start writing a blog, spend some time reading.  I’m going to continue with this thought, but right now I gotta run!
