I have written about the difficulties of finding a person with technical expertise and a heart for ministry. Technical people are literally a dime a dozen but the church needs more than just skill, the church needs passion for ministry, as well. Skill and passion are both valuable, but to find both qualities in a single person is not as common and something that churches need to strive for.
If you are in central Kentucky, that person is Darrell Jordan. He is a man after my own heart, he has a desire to reach out to small churches and really any church that may not be able to hire a full time IT person. His new site is Central Kentucky Computers and Networking and you need to go check it out. Even if you aren’t in Kentucky, you might still contact him and see if there’s a way he can work with you.
Central Kentucky Computer and Networking started as an attempt to enter the home and small business market for computer and networking support. After much thought and prayer, I decided in 2006 to focus on churches and ministries that can’t afford their own full time IT person.
With 5 years of hardware and software support for a Fortune 500 company I have the necessary skills and resources to provide your church or ministry a full range of IT services.
Darrell and I have chatted online quite a bit and he is a good guy and following God in his desire to serve the church. Check out his blog too.
Thanks Jim. Hopefully I can live up to your comments

I will check out his site and blog. I have a technology section of my blog that I just started if you would like to check it out here http://www.dipnoi.org/category/technology/
This is a nice blog that you have and I plan on being back.
Jim, I agree with your statement at the beginning of this post about being not only skillful, but having a passion. It seems that in the Body, that IT is one field where many do not know that they can have a passion for IT and then use their skill to serve the God and His children.
I went to a spiritual gifts workshop at my church recently. And while it is that I know my giftings, I did not know where my church needed my giftings best. I know now, and it has been great as the two things that move me (children and tech) are those two areas where I feel and know that I really worship God when I use my skills to serve Him in those areas.
To find out (via CTM) that others are similar is very encouraging. Thanks for finding CKCN and I look forward to more passionate followers of Christ using their skills in IT all the more because of this posting
