Hanging Out With Another Blogger

I met Darrell Jordan a couple of weeks ago, in Lexington and now, this week, I’m in Atlanta, and the other night, I had the honor of meeting and hanging out with Tony Dye.  He gave me a tour of Perimeter, then we had dinner.  We talked about quite a bit and probably could have talked for longer, but we will meet again, I’m sure.

I came across an old e-mail at work last week and realized that I have been planning my Atlanta trip since July.  I am implementing a new system at one of our locations and we have had all kinds of issues.  I emailed Tony back then and then kept postponing the trip.  Now, finally, in September, everything came together.

It was worth the wait.  One thing we discussed is how fascinating blogging is and how it gives us the opportunity to meet people that we never would meet otherwise.

Traveling for work is fun but it can be a drag, but so far, I’m 2 for 2 on trips and blogger meetings.  Who’s next, I wonder.

Thank you, Tony!  I enjoyed talking face to face with you, you are doing alot of good stuff at Perimeter.  Thank you for giving up an evening to spend with me.  I owe you, let’s do it again!

“giving up an evening?” Not at all — it was definitely a high point in my week! Thanks for making that long drive.

I’m ready for that next visit. Maybe there can be an “IT Round Table 2.0″ somewhere closer to where you are :-)
