What’s up? Is it FeedBurner or Bloglines?

Posted on October 13, 2006

UPDATE: The last 2 days, still missing about 100, I think Bloglines is not pushing my numbers to Feedburner

Since I’m kind of a numbers freak, every day I check my FeedBurner number. Since I use WordPress, I have multiple feeds, in addition to the FeedBurner one that I added and since the beginning of time (well, the beginning of this blog, at least) FeedBurner has not reported a portion of my Bloglines readers. I have spent a great deal of time trying to correct this but finally just accepted the fact. Now, today, FeedBurner includes none of my Bloglines readers and I’m not sure if it’s Bloglines fault or FeedBurner’s. I technically have 103 readers thru Bloglines and FeedBurner is normally about 25 less.

So, I’m just wondering out loud, what’s up? I think it’s a Bloglines issue, for some reason, but regardless, I’m sure it will resolve tomorrow. This has happened before, on occassion and it’s no big deal, well, unless you are like me and watch the numbers. Today, the 96 I’m showing, should actually be 199, but it would normally be reported as 174.

Then there’s people like me who *were* reading with Bloglines, moved to GoogleReader, but both were subscribed through FeedBurner… :-)

I read this blog through Bloglines, but it reports 76 subscribers today. Dunno if that’s different to yesterday - will check tomorrow. :)
