Have you been waiting in line all week for the PS3 release? (PS3=Play Station 3)Â From what I can tell, most people who have camped out in line until today’s release are planning to sell it and make a nice profit, although, I’m sure there are some hardcore gamers that can’t wait to get their hands on one.
If you were actually able to turn it for a quick profit, it might be worth it, but you would have to be pretty quick because supply will increase and demand will decrease.
Is it worth getting shot? Is it worth slamming into a pole and injuring yourself? These things have happened, check it out. If you have waited in line all week, please let me know, I want to know what it was like. If you turned your $600 investment into $2000-$2500, let me know, this is fascinating. If you were in line and got shot or were injured, or if you quit your job so you could wait in line, tell your story here.
Is it worth it? Â
I’ve got a GameCube and I paid around $100 for it about 2 years ago, anyone wanna buy it? I’ll take $700-$800 for it. It comes with 4 controllers, 2 of them are wireless and we have 3-4 games. Don’t tell my family, though, we still play it quite a bit. I’ve also got a SuperNintendo that still works and we probably have 7 or 8 games for it, I’ll take $400 for it. Well, there is a short in the power cord and if you move it at all, the screen goes black, so I’ll cut the price to $325.
Let me know, I’m motivated to sell, it’s a buyer’s market.
Honestly, it’s craziness, and I don’t understand it! Two weeks to camp out for a video game system (that was rushed out at that)?!? I’m a gamer myself, and I can’t understand it.
Even worse is the eBay prices. I’ve seen as high as $13,000 on there, but most are still going in the $1500-3000 range. Utter insanity.
That said, I’m planning to swinging by the Super Wal-Mart Saturday night to see if I can get my hands on a Wii. I’m willing to wait a few hours in line then, but to waste two weeks for a video game system is a bit much to me!
My husband and I thought about trying to pre-order both the PS3 and the Wii for resale, but it was sort of a passive thought so we missed the opportunity. That pretty much sums up my value assessment… might be worth it if you can do it easily, but definitely not worth it to me as it’s playing out.
