Long Live – Joey the Joe Man

This picture was taken and cropped by my geeky wife. (The ones I took with my camera did not turn out nearly this good, but they are here and here ) My daughters built Freddy the snowman out back, then Kelsey, my 8 year old wanted me to show her how to build a snow man. How could I pass that up? So we went out front and built Joey, nicknamed Joey the Joe Man by Kelsey.

Joey the Joe Man has two freshly broken limbs for arms, driveway rocks for his facial features and he’s wearing a baseball cap sideways, trying to look cool.

This snow is really giving us a run for our money. I grew up in western Colorado and snow like this was common and the streets were plowed and sanded very well. In Missouri, our town’s one snow plow was out Thursday when it was sleeting but after all this snow fell Thursday night, we didn’t see the snow plow again.

Fortunately, the big red truck saved the day! It’s been navigating pretty well through all the ice and snow.  This storm put it to the test and it passed with flying colors.

I don’t think Joey the Joe Man is going to survive past the next couple of days, so we’ll enjoy him while we can.

I’m sad to report that Joey has collapsed. The end is near.
