Northpoint Launches NsideAdmin

Posted on February 12, 2007

For the past 10 years or so, I have been a geek.  The geekiness has evolved over time to what it is today.  However, now it’s time to come clean, it’s time to squash the rumors and reveal my life before geek.

Deep within the geek veil, I have a business degree and I spent several years in the business world before I crossed over into the light.  I have also spent much of the last 10 years pursuing some kind of business, on the side.

In a way, I’m unique, I’m a business minded geek.  Over the years, I have learned the strengths of merging my business/management training with my geek passion to relate to colleagues on multiple levels.

I say all of that so that you understand my interest in North Point Community Church’s new site, NsideAdmin.  This site excites me because they are making many administrative and management forms and other resources freely available.

We have compiled much of our philosophy, strategy, practices, and processes on this site in an effort to help other churches learn from our experiences. We’ve included things like: why we do some of the things we do, what has worked well, and what hasn’t worked well.

The categories include Church Government, Human Resources & Accounting, Facilities, Information Tech & Web and NP Resources.  One thing to keep in mind is that you can’t just take what North Point does or any church, for that matter, and assume it’s going to fit your church but, this can serve as a guideline

They go on to say:

We’ll be the first to admit that we’re not there yet! We hope you will find this site helpful as you create environments for people to connect meaningfully with God. Thanks for stopping by.

Some churches are offering up free media resources, which is a great thing, and I expect other churches to do the same.  But this is unique, practical and something many churches can use.   North Point is offering insight into the business, non-sexy side of church, so go check it out.
