SWMo Church Tech Roundtable

Tomorrow, June 9, 2007 is our first roundtable meeting. It will be at Panera on 32nd St. in Joplin at 9:00am. Our goal is to connect with many local churches, large or small and create a support network for technology in the church. Whether you are a pastor or a geek (or both) or anything in between, please join us. Our vision for this is not just a bunch of geeks sitting around doing geeky stuff, we want to network and share ideas and encourage each other and ultimately equip churches in a practical way to effectively use technology.

This first meeting is pretty much an open agenda, to get to know each other and set the direction for the future. I would also like to discuss how to create a virtual community that is active and not entirely dependent on actual meetings. This is because I have talked to some people that are interested, but busy, so I think we need to create something online. We have our Google group here and that’s definitely a start.

If these meetings become a regular thing, I can see having short presentations and specific topics to share what’s working and what’s not working. But for tomorrow, just come and let’s get this thing started.

13:20 Now may the God of peace, who made that great keeper of his flock, even our Lord Jesus, come back from the dead through the blood of the eternal agreement, 13:21 Make you full of every good work and ready to do all his desires, working in us whatever is pleasing in his eyes through Jesus Christ; and may the glory be given to him for ever and ever. So be it.
Hebrews 13:20-21 BBE

    Hi

I’ve been reading your blog for some time now. I would like to join your Round Table group. But there is kind of distance… ;)
Do you know about any other Christians (or Christian groups) that have this desire in the heart to efectively use IT in The Church?

Or could you give me any other links – I’ve love to read about this issue, and to learn from others.
