This is my first attempt at a post from Google Docs & Spreadsheets, so we’ll see if this makes it up. If this works, I might start writing from here regularly. I’m not happy with the WordPress editor mainly because it’s weak in the way that it manages drafts. Lately, I have 4 or 5 drafts started and probably another 4 or 5 drafts in my head and if I had a good system to manage drafts, I could get a draft started as I think of it and come back later.My ongoing challenge is spending my time on more than one computer, my office computer and my laptop, which tends to go with me most everywhere when I’m not at work. My ultimate goal is to get down to using my laptop as my primary and only computer, then I could possibly use Word 2007 as a blog editor and have an effective way to manage drafts and posts.
One thing I have on my laptop that I love is an application called DarkRoom. It is a word processor that gives you a black fullscreen, which removes all other distractions and I can just write. I just found a way to do that in the new version of Word and that’s good but right now, those are both on my laptop at home. I might look for a Google Docs hack that will give me a black screen or if you know of something, let me know.

jim, you probably already know this but in case you don’t – you can also blog directly from MS Word and it works well.
