Tech Ministry Site Ideas

As I consider the future of the tech ministry at my church, there are many things to consider, in fact, it’s overwhelming, all I can do is take it one step at a time. One thing I would like to put in place is a page or multiple pages on the church website for the tech ministry. I think that will serve as a foundation or more of a point of reference for what I am just beginning to build.

It’s a great idea but I don’t fully have a grasp of the vision for what the tech ministry area of the site should be. Mary is building and designing the church site right now, and is beginning to harass various ministry leaders for content. So, now I come along and inform her that I want my own piece of the site too. Take a number!

Our expectation for the church website is that it needs to be done right, both in design and content and Mary is pushing ministry leaders, mainly pastors, to provide quality content, which seemed like a great concept, until it came to my own ministry. I now understand why these people have unintentionally procrastinated.  It’s a hard task!

I need some ideas on how other tech ministry leaders are using their church website for casting the vision, sharing information, scheduling and more. If your tech ministry is on your church website, please send me a link and I think that will help me to define what it is that I want. I know this will be a work in progress and I’m willing to start small and build it, but it needs to be intentional. I’m not doing it just to do it.

Derek recently sent me a link to his tech ministry’s site and it is here, and it is full of valuable info.  Plus I know I’ve seen others.  So, please point me to yours, so I can get some new ideas on how to build my piece of the site.

I’ve been enjoying your blog, and like what you have to say about technology in the kingdom of God. At my church in Corvallis, OR, we used to have a technical minister, Jason Dykast, who is now a pastor in Cleveland, TN. I really like how he laid out and organized the Corvallis site: http://www.calvarycorvallis.org, and his new http://www.calvarycleveland.org site has some nice features. You might consider putting your headlines and lead paragraphs from this blog on the tech page of your church site. God bless!
