OpenSocial API Documentation

Posted on November 2, 2007 by Jim Walton

If you are a coder, web developer or any type of programmer, this might interest you.  The OpenSocial API docs are here.  According to Google:

OpenSocial provides a common set of APIs for social applications across multiple websites. With standard JavaScript and HTML, developers can create apps that access a social network’s friends and update feeds.

You can review the OpenSocial API docs here and even write your first social gadget for Orkut.  Also, here’s the OpenSocial API blog and that will probably have the most up to date and first hand info direct from Google.

If nothing else, just sit back and wait and watch as the social web landscape explodes to become even more social.

Now I’m off to sign into my dormant Orkut account to finally understand it’s relevance.
