Sunday Morning Recap: November 18, 2007

This past Sunday, we had a great morning. It was the final message in the Kingdom series called His Offer.

For the video, I chose one that didn’t directly fit but in a way, it did, I felt it was kind of a stretch, but I liked it. It is video called Reverse Thread: Kingdom of God produced by Beamer Films.

If you haven’t checked out Beamer Films, you need to, they are a young company doing great things. I have gotten to know Cris, via e-mail recently and I let him know about the topic of the message and he suggested I check out Reverse Thread.

It’s a subtle video that really has a great story and an underlying message.

Our first service is traditional and a smaller crowd and they appreciated it, it was well received.

The second service is pretty full and more energetic and I actually nearly scrapped the video, due to technical difficulties.  Under different circumstances I might have given up on it after the initial hang up because I would rather move on past something like that rather than fumble around. But I really wanted this video to show and felt it was worth the wait.

Normally, as soon as it’s over, Tony gets up and prays and starts teaching.  However, this time, as he was getting up, everyone in the room started clapping. Not just a polite, that was nice, kind of clap but applauding the video! I was blown away, I have never seen a response to a video like that in this church.  It was incredible!  It really connected with the audience.

As Cris told me yesterday, there is something electric about that video on the big screen.  It’s one thing to see it on your computer, but it comes alive on the big screen.  It’s a silent movie, done in black and white, plus there is a twist in the end, which further emphasizes the way the Kingdom of God is.

Sunday evening we had a Thanksgiving service where the focus was on sharing what we are thankful for.  I found Thanksgiving: A Heart Fully Alive via WorshipHouseMedia.  This video is also from Beamer Films.  There were at least a couple of Thanksgiving videos that caught my eye but this one really stood out to me.  In fact, I sent an email to inquire about something concerning this video and that began the conversation between Cris and I which has continued to this day.  Cris is really doing a lot to make Beamer a company that produces high quality videos and other graphics.  He is also very generous and I appreciate that.

This Sunday is still up in the air, as far as the video goes but I plan to get caught up and ahead in my planning so I have several weeks planned at a time.  This site being down last week set everything back, big time but it’s great to be back.

There you go, that’s the video recap for the week!
