Take A Shot For Jesus

Next Level Church has done something that seems to have gotten some attention, they have even made national news.

What is it that a church can do to get this kind of attention? Hand out shot glasses in bars with an invitation to come to church. As you can see, the shot glass has the church’s name on it and says ‘Give us a shot’

Are you offended? Are you shocked? Is the church encouraging drinking? Not really. What’s happening here is that the church is reaching people where they are and not just fellow church goers, but people that probably really need Jesus.

What would Jesus do? That’s a worn-out cliche but it’s still a valid question. Would Jesus come into your church and sign up to be a greeter or maybe an usher?  Would He join the Tech Arts Ministry to show us a thing or two?  Would He count the offering money to make sure everyone was giving enough? Would He go to the Mother’s Day potluck?

Or would He be out in the community, meeting people where they live, at the well, at Wal-Mart or even at the bar.

Way to go, Next Level Church! What a bold move.

    Awesome Stuff.

    Does anyone here know the first miracle Jesus did in the bible ?

    Stumped…

    Ok – it had something to do with Water

    it had something to do with a wedding…

    we did something very similar – along with that we left this book behind that said

    Hate Church – tell us why –

    The comments are amazing in this little journal.

    The primary job of the church – the business of the church is simply to be a moonbeam !

    Jesus is the Light of the World – we are not.

    Just like the moon does not do anything other than reflect the light of the sun – perhaps thats what we should do…

    Reflect the light of the SON – even if its through a shot glass – into a bar -

    I agree, Jim. I wish I had thought of it. For too long, we’ve been reaching the flock. These guys are spot-on. I think it’s perhaps the most clever thing I’ve seen in a while.

    Down here in Cajun Country, hunting is real big. You think I could get that slogan put on shotgun shells?
