Jim Walton started Church Tech Matters in October, 2004 and the idea was simple, to equip the church to effectively use technology to reach people for Christ. That has remained the goal and the purpose of this site. For the past 4 years, Jim has volunteered in some way at his church in a technical way, including leading and building a team of fellow servant volunteers.
Due to many variables, in December, 2008, Jim stopped writing here, although left the site up as a reference. Over the next month, it was decided to bring this site back to life as a site for tech volunteers written by tech volunteers.
The contributors here serve in their church as either a tech volunteer, a volunteer ministry leader of volunteers or a staff leader of volunteers and they are here to share their experiences to help all of us.
In the end, this site still has the same purpose, to equip the church to effectively use technology to reach people for Christ.
