Jim Walton started ChurchTechMatters in 2004 as a way to help churches effectively use technology to reach people for Christ. During this time, he has served his own church in various IT roles as well as video production and many other ways. He also recruited and led multiple volunteer teams and helped develop these volunteers to use their gifts and skills effectively. Jim has also done consulting work for various other churches and ministries.
In addition to writing for CTM, Jim is writing at his own site, JimWalton.org, as well as a MinistryLIVE and been a guest writer at various other sites.

Greg Simmons has served in volunteer church media roles for over 20 years. During this time Greg has gained experience in sound, lighting, video production and web content production.
He currently serves as the Volunteer Technical Arts Ministry leader at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church. Greg also has a passion for helping smaller churches implement media and other technology tools to support their ministry efforts. Through his teaching related contacts, Greg has also worked as a consultant to several smaller churches.

Kirk Longhofer began playing with church sound at the age of 12, when the Senior Pastor of his church bribed him with access to the control room, if he’d keep singing in the youth choir! Nearly 35 years later, he’s served in just about every role available in worship technology, from audio, to lighting to extensive live video and production experience.
Most recently he served as Director of Communications and Technology for a large church in Wichita, Kansas. Today his is focused on working with small and medium sized churches to successfully integrate technology into the life of the church in ways that build up and don’t disrupt. he believes that technology can be used to enhance worship, regardless of the worship style of the church.

Joshua Withers is a single white male in his late twenties. He has the responsibility of making sure all the 1’s and 0’s line up in the world that is SURFCiTY Church in Surfers Paradise on Australia’s Gold Coast, he’s also a small business owner (web dev) and a radio presenter.
He is a professional blood extractor from stone, Apple Products, projection and making the boss happy. In his spare time he sleeps and eats, whilst trying to maintain a relationship with God, his family and the people who call him friend.

During the day he is the Information technology director for RMC Research in Portsmouth, NH where he manages technology for 8 regional offices.
Tim is the volunteer Technology Team leader at dec where he leads a great group of volunteers that have a heart to serve our Lord and further God’s kingdom. Tim’s passion for technology reaches beyond the wires and into the hearts of the people technology can help.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys spending time with his family, photography playing with his dogs, and watching his favorite TV shows.

Rachel Walton has been involved with church media for over 5 years, starting out by running EasyWorship for one of the children’s worship services at her church. She has become very knowledgeable and skilled with the various ins and outs of EasyWorship due to her years of practice.
More recently, she has been involved in overseeing the stage and house lighting in the main worship service at her church. She has played a pivotal role in designing the stage lighting and planning the various lighting aspects of each service. Rachel is eager to be involved in most everything IT and media related. Of course, since her Dad is fairly active in the church IT and media world, she has plently of opportunity to be a part of the team.

Peter Schott has been working with computers since 1983 and working as a church IT volunteer since 1996. He currently serves at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Keller, TX on the IT team as the semi-official webmaster (administrator, not designer) and one of the main Windows Server support volunteers. During the day he works for Fellowship Technologies as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Developer. Outside of work, he is a husband, father, and singer. His passion for using technology at smaller churches for more efficient ministry and for outreach led him to ChurchTechMatters pretty shortly after Jim Walton started posting. He hopes to share his experiences serving the local church to help others benefit from them.

Stuart Dyckhoff is currently the only IT Tech volunteer at the Vine Christian Centre in Bridgend, South Wales where he has attended and undertaken many roles in the past 22yrs – from sound tech to drama to head usher. He has a passion for new tech, gadgets and helping others use and utilise them. Stuart has worked professionally in the IT field for 25yrs and currently specialises in WAN/LAN/Security Support. He has a deep understanding of all things hardware and although fairly new to public blogging hopes to share his passion, love and wide ranging knowledge of all things technical.
Daniel Meyer is the lead IT volunteer at Fairview Christian Church in Carthage, MO. He has been involved in media and IT at his church for over 7 years.
Chris Duckett is a long time church volunteer with experience with sound, lighting, video design and presentation. He has served as Intern and Youth Pastor full-time in ministry providing him an understanding of service design and flow. He is passionate for church technology and helping churches use technology as effectively as possible for evangelism. As one of his many projects he has a social media podcast called Life in the Tubes. He currently serves at Crown Pointe Church in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Jason Petersonis a web 2.0 enthusiast and follower of Jesus. He lives outside of Phoenix, AZ and is the lead Audio tech for Christian Church of Casa Grande. He has a degree in audio engineering, which he uses exclusively in his volunteer efforts at church. Jason also has a wonderful wife and 4 year old daughter. You can follow his ramblings on twitter.
